‘Abdu’l-Bahá is day and night thinking of you and mentioning you, for the friends of God are dear to Him. Every morning at dawn I supplicate the Kingdom of God and ask that you may be filled with the breath of the Holy Spirit, so that you may become brilliant candles, shine with the light of guidance and dispel the darkness of error. Rest assured that the confirmations of the Bahá Kingdom will continuously reach you.
(‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Bahá’í World Faith, p. 429)
At all times do I speak of you and call you to mind. I pray unto the Lord, and with tears I implore Him to rain down all these blessings upon you, and gladden your hearts, and make blissful your souls, and grant you exceeding joy and heavenly delights....
(‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, p. 37)
My dear friend! If thou didst know how dear thou art to ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, thou wouldst spread wings, and through excess of joy, soar and begin teaching all that country.
(‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá v2, p. 336)
Now I address thee with a heart filled with affection toward thee.
(‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá v3, p. 600)
O maid-servant of God! Verily, I have not forgotten thee and will not forget thee. Trust thou in the love of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, for verily, nothing equals it.
(‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá v1, p. 201)
O thou at whose mention I am rejoiced!
(‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá v1, p. 121)
O thou whom I mention with my heart and tongue!
Though I do not see thee with mine eyes, I do see thee with my heart, and mention thee with the fullness of love, clemency, yearning and attraction, supplicating my Lord that we may meet together at the meeting of His Kingdom and the pavilion of His might, where we shall chant the verses of thanks for His bounty, generosity and gifts, the lights of which have shone upon all horizons and their effulgences have become intense upon the hearts of the people of harmony.
(‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá v2, p. 255)
One day, whilst I was driving with Mrs. Cropper and the Master, she said: “Master, are you not longing to be back at Haifa with your beloved family?” He smiled and said: “I wish you to understand that you are both as truly my dear daughters, as beloved by me, as are those of whom you speak.”
(Lady Blomfield, The Chosen Highway, p. 171)
Verily I love thee with all my heart and pray for thee every eve and morn.
(‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá v1, p. 112)
Verily I pray unto my Lord with all humbleness, meekness, obedience and submissiveness—which demolisheth every edifice of self-exaltation—that He shall strengthen thee by the fragrances of holiness and the breath of the Spirit of Truth and cause thee to be dedicated (or severed) unto God, purged and purified from the dross of the world, holy and sanctified from carnal passions, sacrificing thy soul to the beloved of God, contented with that which the Lord hath granted thee in the world, anxious to perform noble and good deeds while following the teachings of God, and in all things adhering to the law of God.
(‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá v2, p. 332)
When the believers, men and women, pass in thought before my eyes, I feel myself warmed at the fire of God’s love, and I pray that the Almighty will succour those holy souls with His invisible hosts.
(‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, p. 181)
