Let not this life and its deceits deceive you, for the world and all that is therein is held firmly in the grasp of His Will.
(Bahá’u’lláh, Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 209)
Many a day of deceit turned into a night of despair.
(The Universal House of Justice, Messages 1963 to 1986, p. 437)
This is the Day of mutual deceit; whither do ye flee? The mountains have passed away, and the heavens have been folded together, and the whole earth is held within His grasp, could ye but understand it. Who is it that can protect you? None, by Him Who is the All-Merciful! None, except God, the Almighty, the All-Glorious, the Beneficent.
(Bahá’u’lláh, Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, pp. 45-46).
Understand your rank and protect your stations by the Name of God, because the polytheists and repudiating ones and the perfidious ones appeared with the clothes of unity, advancement and truthfulness and they spent the zeal of their envy in misleading the people.
(Compilations, Bahá’í Scriptures, p. 233)
We have forbidden you perfidious [deliberately faithless; treacherous; deceitful] acts.
(Adib Taherzadeh, The Covenant of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 21-22)
When we find truth, constancy, fidelity, and love, we are happy; but if we meet with lying, faithlessness, and deceit, we are miserable.
(‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Paris Talks, p. 65)
