Refugees

We are a small community that is devoted to contributing to the well-being of society through a range of programs and activities that frequently include recent immigrants and refugee populations. The National Assembly is not a sponsorship agreement holder, but we are aware of many individual initiatives by Bahá’ís to respond to the needs of refugees through volunteer efforts and in their professional capacities. The commitment of the Bahá’í community to serving these populations extends back at least as far as the 1980s, when we began to welcome thousands of Iranian refugees – an effort that continues to this day.
