Accused
An Assembly must protect the Faith and neither blindly accuse nor blindly defend one of its members....
- Shoghi Effendi, The Compilation of Compilations vol II, p. 51
Because a person is accused does not necessarily prove that he or she is guilty; and the administrative bodies cannot be too careful in such matters.
- Shoghi Effendi, The Light of Divine Guidance v II, p. 129-130
Because of such an attitude, as also because of our refusal to become involved in politics, Bahá’ís are often accused of holding aloof from the 'real problems' of their fellow-men. But when we hear this accusation let us not forget that those who make it are usually idealistic materialists to whom material good is the only 'real' good, whereas we know that the working of the material world is merely a reflection of spiritual conditions and until the spiritual conditions can be changed there can be no lasting change for the better in material affairs.

Quote of the Day
Istiqlal 14 Qawl 182 B.E.
It is my firm conviction which I now express with all sincerity and candor, that the dignity and unity of the Cause urgently demands -- particularly throughout the American continent -- that the friends should in their words and conduct emphasize and give absolute prominence to the constructive dynamic principles of Bahá’u’lláh, rather than attach undue importance to His negative Teachings.
