As to the business ventures of believers in relation to the Bahá’í community, the House of Justice has in the past identified certain principles. Among these are that it would not be appropriate to use one’s association with the Bahá’í community to promote one’s own ventures and to increase individual contacts. Although there are certain instances inwhich Bahá’ís sell items or services to other believers, the House of Justice has encouraged the friends to ensure that such activities do not overstep the bounds of moderation or exploit Bahá’í relationships for commercial purposes. Moreover, Bahá’í professionals should not regard the Bahá’í community as a target for commercial enterprise.

Be sensitive for the possibility of prior exposure to severe violence, such as a personal or family history of trauma from torture, mutilation, war atrocities, gang rape, arson, bombings, lynchings, or other extreme forms of violence. Prior exposure to other forms of violence may exacerbate the effects of domestic violence.
