As to the business ventures of believers in relation to the Bahá’í community, the House of Justice has in the past identified certain principles. Among these are that it would not be appropriate to use one’s association with the Bahá’í community to promote one’s own ventures and to increase individual contacts. Although there are certain instances inwhich Bahá’ís sell items or services to other believers, the House of Justice has encouraged the friends to ensure that such activities do not overstep the bounds of moderation or exploit Bahá’í relationships for commercial purposes. Moreover, Bahá’í professionals should not regard the Bahá’í community as a target for commercial enterprise.

Concerning your question with regard to the use of alcohol for rubbing: the believers can make any use of alcohol for any such treatments, provided they do not drink it, unless, of course, they are compelled to do so, under the advice of a competent and conscientious physician, who may have to prescribe it for the cure of some special ailment.
